Mis Triadas (Casi un blog musical) II

Hoy en mi segunda entrega he elegido a uno de los Grandes (contemporaneo mío, esto es propaganda!): Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009).

Conocido (o autoproclamado) como el “Rey del Pop”, y últimamente “Jacko”. Éste proviene de la denominación “Wako Jacko”, que hicieron algunos periodistas criticos con el cantante, del incluso llegaron a sacar un comic. Este sobrenombre era repudiado por el propio Michael, aun así se está generalizando su uso, perdiendo ese velo de crítica que lo origino.

Para muchos un Genio, para otros un Villano. Conocido es de todos sus acusaciones de pedrástia, las locuras manifiestas con sus hijos, etc. Pero el echo más conocido, para mí su mayor problema, fue el peor error en el que puede caer un ser humano: el de no aceptarse a si mismo. Su desenfrenada “carrera” para dejar de ser negro, no solo lo llevo a convertirse en una “quimera humana”, tambien lo condujo a esa gran locura que fue marcando la última etapa de su vida.

A pesar de ser todo lo cuestionable su calidad humana, hoy solo hablaremos de él desde su faceta de artista. Son innumerables sus record (ventas, discos, videos, etc). Para mi hay dos puntos clave en la “fabricación” del mito. El primero: el video Thrilrer, emitido por primera vez el 2 de diciembre de 1983, de 14 minutos de duración. Los Beatles con sus peliculas sentaron las bases de los videoclips musicales, y Michael con Thriler, les dió las pautas a seguir para llegar a ser lo que son hoy en día (son la base donde se sienta el “business” de la música). El segundo elemento que lo encumbró, su forma de bailar. Su virtuosismo le añadia a sus interpretaciones (tanto en directo, como en sus videos) una plasticidad visual no conocida anteriormente.

La primera seleccionada es Smooth Criminal (Criminal sigiloso o Criminal de guante blanco). La canción forma parte de su álbum Bad (albúm que representa para mí el culmen de su carrera (iniciada con Thriler 1982), a partir de ahí…..comienza su “abismo personal” que lo afecto en su plano profesional), que fue lanzado en 1987. La canción es la pieza central de la película musical Moonwalker. La versión que se escucha en el video musical es diferente de la editada en el álbum, es mucho más larga. La versión más famosa de la canción la realizo el grupo californiano Alien Ant Farm en 2001.
En el video podemos apreciar la esencia de la forma de bailar de Michael. Encontramos dos de sus más famosos pasos de baile “Moonwalk” (paso lunar) y los “45º” (por más genio que fuera y tubiese hiperdesarrollada toda la musculatura de sus piernas, es totalmente imposible desde el punto de vista de la física realizar este paso sin truco, genio si…dios no). Como segunda selección tenemos a Man in the mirror (Hombre en el eespejo), al igual que la anterior del disco Bad, que solo por por los coros de Góspel de la misma merece estar aquí. La letra es una de las más cargadas de emotividad de todo su repertorio.

Como última canción, os propongo la que es para mí la más hermosa de toda su discografía: Hold my hand. Se encuentra en el disco Michael, que es el primer álbum póstumo de temas inéditos del cantante. Fue lanzado el 14 de diciembre de 2010. Es un dueto con Akon (No me extraña que le llamen así, ya que su nombre completo….y me faltaría pulmones para decirlo de un tirón es: Aliaune Badara Akon Thiam Lululu Cana Pun Popotlen), cantante estadounidense de origen senegalés. Escrita originalmente para Whitney Houston, fue grabada en 2007. En julio de 2008 se “filtro” en Internet una versión inacabada. Más que una canción de amor la catalogaría como un “grito” en la soledad, la misma que rodeo a Michael sus últimos años. El inicio es solo el prologo de ese grito:
