Mis Triadas (Casi un blog musical) XIII

Hoy voy a terminar la tanda de “mis chicas” (habrá más luego). He elegido a la mujer de la que me enamoré nada más escucharla (musicalmente hablando…) aunque sus hermanas tampoco tienen “perdida”. Andrea es la voz más sensual, dulce y envolvente que conozco. Y para más “INRI”, los juegos vocales que hacen sus hermanos, junto a una cuidada y esplendida interpretación de los instrumentos, y a los acordes de sus canciones, hacen de ellos un grupo irrepetible. Sí no fuera poco esto, ese toque de música tradicional irlandesa que “pintan” en muchas de sus canciones lo convierten en uno de mis preferidos.(mi pasión por la “isla verde” y lo celta ya os lo conté en los blog I y VII). Os hablo de The Corrs. Vengo con retraso a mi cita, pero las causas son justificadas, por eso os pido perdón (por cierto es mi blog trece, y no soy nada supersticioso, es más mi número de la suerte es el 13)

The Corrs son un grupo musical irlandés compuesto por cuatro, Sharon (violín, voz, 1970), Caroline (batería, bodhràn que es una especie de pandero irlandés, y piano, 1973), Andrea (tin whistler, una especie de flauta dulce y solista, 1974) y Jim Corr (guitarra, piano y teclados, voz, 1964). Su música sería una mezcla de música tradicional irlandesa (celta) con pop rock. Aunque lo mejor del grupo es la “fusión” de sus voces con los instrumentos. El grupo se fundó en 1990 y en 2006 se tomaron una pausa. Andrea como Sharon han editado varios discos en solitario desde entonces.

De sus padres “heredaron” la pasión por la música (tocaban por los pubs), poseen una sólida formación musical. Empezaron al igual que sus padres a tocar en pubs, y entre muchas “vueltas” (llegaron a ser teloneros de Celine Dion en su gira mundial Falling into You Tour en1996) antes de su gran triunfo. Su primer disco Forgiven, Not Forgotten (1995) los catapultó a la fama (no sin cierto retraso, ya que fue entre 1997-1998, cuando el disco entró fuerte en las distintas listas musicales del mundo). Han editado 5 discos de estudio.

Han tocado junto a diversos artistas, entre ellos se encuentran Bono (cantante U2), Pavarotti, The. Chieftains, Sheryl Crow, Ron Wood, (bajista Rolling Stones), Rod Stewart y Alejandro Sanz

Mi selección empieza con Toss the Feathers (Instrumental) de su primer disco Forgiven, Not Forgotten (1995), es una canción tradicional irlandesa.
